Knowledge (at least passive) of the English language

Principles regarding minority rights and the management of diversity., regarding "old" minorities (linguistic, national, historical) and "new" (communities with a foreign background); the distinction between "old" and "new" minorities will be assessed critically. - Analysis of the main international instruments for the minority protection. Analysis of some relevant models: Italy, Germany, UK, France, Spain (with a special focus on the catalan question) , Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, USA, China, India, Indonesia, indigenous people 

The aim is to strenghten the knowledge of the principles regarding minority rights and the management of diversity., regarding "old" minorities (linguistic, national, historical) and "new" (communities with a foreign background); the distinction between "old" and "new" minorities will be assessed critically. - Analysis of the main international instruments for the minority protection. Analysis of some relevant models: Italy, Germany, UK, France, Spain (with a special focus on the catalan question) , Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, USA, China, India, Indonesia, indigenous people 

Oral lessons, with participation of the students to the discussion

Oral exams, with the possibility of the presentation of a written paper (to decide with the teacher) and also of an intermediate text (around November)
