Descrizione dell'insegnamento

Advanced calculus, notions of systems theory and feedback control

The course is organized to provide the main techniques of robust control, i.e.:

  • state-space modeling;
  • nonlinear systems theory;
  • Lyapunov control theory;
  • Sliding mode control
  • Linear Matrix Inequalities applied to Linear Parameter-Varying systems control

and their use in the application of flight control.

The goal of the course of Robust Control and Flight Control is to provide an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art of robust control methodologies. The course is organized to experience with  practical examples and case studies in the flight control application area.

The course is organized with lectures and lab experiences.

The exam starts is oral. It is made of a discussion of the project work carried out during the semester to assess the level of knowledge of the student about the Flight Control techniques. The oral exam also includes the discussion of more general aspects regarding the Robust Control methodologies encountered during the lectures.
