This course aims at providing students with a basic understanding of the principles of Islamic Transactional Law and Islamic Finance and the means to structure, or appreciate and understand the structure of, Shar'ah compliant transactions and products. The course will assess each of the various Islamic finance and investment mechanism. The course shall also explore the interplay between Islamic legal principles and the italian and international legal environments within which they function

Oral exam
Islam, from religion to law. The sources of Islamic Law. The Quaran. The Shari'ah and the Sunna. Principles and rules of Islamic Transactional Law and Finance. The Sharing Risk mechanism. Islamic personal banking products. Islamic Financial Institutions. Islamic Bond. The interpay between Islamic Law and Italian, European and International Law.
